Malas are used for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. This sadhana (practice) is known in Sanskrit as japa. Malas are typically made with 18, 27, 54 or 108 beads. Hindus and Buddhists use japa mala, which generally has 108 beads. According to Indian astrology, there are 27 nakshatras and 4 padhas (times) for each, totaling 27 x 4 = 108 padhas. So any living being is born in one of these timings. For peace and prosperity of all beings 108 is selected. We are the suppliers of original and pure japa malas and other such mystical products in Mathura.
